VIMS holds 27th annual Blue Crab Bowl

The 27th annual Blue Crab Bowl, Virginia’s regional program of the National Ocean Sciences Bowl, was hosted by the College of William & Mary’s Batten School and Virginia Institute of Marine Science on March 1 at the Gloucester Point campus. The competition featured 16 teams from 13 high schools and secondary-level institutions across the commonwealth.
The event provided students with an opportunity to showcase their knowledge of marine science and compete for a spot in the national finals. Warwick High School, Newport News, placed first in the competition.
Teams competed in 46 matches that tested their knowledge in several categories, including oceanography, marine biology, public policy and social science.
