The Virginia Institute of Marine Science has announced its Discovery Labs and After Hours lecture topics and dates for the month of March.The next Discovery Labs, “Fishes of the Bay,” will be held on Wednesday, March 22 from 6-8 p.m. in the VIMS Catlett-Burrus Research & Education Lab. Learn more about Chesapeake Bay fishes, from flatfish to seahorses.
VIMS graduate student Miguel Montalvo will introduce the many species of the York River. Participants will be able to view tanks with many York River species, examine fish from the VIMS fish collection and study fish form and functions.
Discovery Labs are free, family-friendly programs provided by the Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (CBNERR) at VIMS.
