Thirty-year Air Force veteran Mike Kenna will speak on his experiences with the QU 22B—Igloo White Mission in the late 1960s at 11:30 a.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 19, at The Pilot House Restaurant, Topping.
His address will be made to the Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula Chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society. Kenna is a member of the group. He accumulated more than 4,000 hours of flying time, mostly in C-141 and C-5 planes.
A release said the QAU 22B Mission was highly classified, monitoring traffic and gathering intelligence on the Ho Chi Minh Trail during the Vietnam War.
The meeting, which is open to the public, includes social time and lunch.
