VICTORIA MILLER BINKERD

Victoria Miller Binkerd passed away on January 21, 2025 at her home in Gloucester, Va., following a brief illness, at the age of 67. Vicki was born on January 18, 1958 in Norfolk, Va., to Kenneth and Mary Miller.

Upon graduation from Williamsburg’s Lafayette High School in 1976 and against her parents’ wishes, Vicki set out to experience the “California Dream.” There in Santa Barbara, she taught Disco dance in a studio as well as part-time working as a hotel night-bookkeeper where she met her one-and-only celebrity who portrayed the character “Gilligan.” Once home again in Virginia, she refined her customer service and bookkeeping talent through employment in car dealerships, banks, two family-owned businesses and the Gloucester County Treasurer’s Office.

Her passions were dance, music and crafts. Embracing the dream of becoming a Radio City Music Hall Rockette since childhood, she translated that desire by joining a tap-dancing troupe along with her mother that performed recitals in Williamsburg for 10 years. Music theory came easy to her due to math skills and she taught herself the guitar but really excelled with the cello where she could be seen playing impromptu trio or duo performances in Gloucester during the holiday seasons. Never idle hands, she created beautiful needlepoint art, quilts, crochet, and intricate chainmail necklaces with matching bracelets that will remain enduring physical connections to her for family and friends.
Vicki was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Miller. She leaves behind her husband, Lonnie Binkerd; mother, Mary Miller (Rich); sister, Joni Miller; sons, Harlan (Alexa) and Jonathan (Breeann) Wehrung; stepsons, Eric (Nicole) and Jason Binkerd; her cherished grandchildren, James, Hailey and Riley Wehrung, as well as Jaxon, Evan Binkerd and all those ever warmed by her friendship and beautiful smile.

A service will be held in Gloucester in the spring. Contacts will be made.
