Vicki R. Johnson, born on December 27, 1941 to the late Alfred R. and Margaret Lambert, passed away on the afternoon of June 29, 2024. Vicki, a long-term resident of Gloucester, Virginia, spent a life dedicated to love and service to others.
Avid seamstress and mother of three, Vicki was always sewing something for someone, whether it be clothes, costumes, or anything else needed. Her love was palatable and shared with all those whose paths she crossed. Her patience was that of a saint; volunteering with the youth at Bellamy United Methodist Church, her humor and natural teaching ability, made Vicki a favorite among children. Her community service and volunteer work at Botetourt Elementary School earned her the Volunteer of the Year award from Gloucester County Public Schools. Doing childcare in her home, Vicki helped raise countless children and formed familial bonds with all of them. There wasn’t much she didn’t enjoy, and if you found Vicki, you found fun. Whether at the beach with family, watching old classic movies, playing cards, ice skating, or shopping, Vicki was always full of laughs and the life of the party.
She is survived by her three children, Maxwell E. Johnson III (Kimberly), Margaret Ann Johnson, and Sean G. Johnson. Her presence will forever be cherished by her seven grandchildren, Scotti, Max, Chloe, Chase, Sterling, Sheldon and Able. Vicki’s love and light will live on, but she will be deeply missed.
Please join us for a celebration of her life. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Bellamy United Methodist Church with a funeral service starting at 11. The burial will be in Bellamy Memorial Cemetery.
Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
