Eleven men from Gloucester Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8252 spent several hours recently on a construction project for the Bread For Life Food Pantry. Bread for Life, a favorite charity of this VFW post, was in need of platform steps leading into its utility shed. VFW member and food pantry volunteer Rick Ferris coordinated the effort with food pantry co-chair Jim Rapoza. The VFW post purchased the materials and transported them to the job site. Work was completed by the veterans on Oct. 12 after the monthly post business meeting. Those taking part in the project included, from left, Derek Day, John Visner, Dave Gerwitz, Ferris, Dave “Top” Lowery, Jon Boren, Dan Day, Commander Jim Sutton, Quartermaster Tony Botticello, Troy Henderson and Don Tellock.
