Veterans to be honored by Mathews businesses

The Inn at Tabbs Creek, Port Haywood, is participating in a nationwide "B&Bs for Vets" thank-you giveaway, sponsored by the Professional Association of Innkeepers International and their "Better Way to Stay" program.

On Sunday, Veterans Day, the inn is donating its rooms for this program, and has already confirmed rooms for deserving vets who will be visiting from throughout Virginia, according to a release.

In addition to the free night’s stay, guest veterans will also be honored at reception followed by a complimentary dinner on Sunday evening at Sandpiper Reef Restaurant in Hallieford.

 

 

Local veterans are invited to come to the reception between 5-6 p.m. to meet the guests, as well as other area veterans. The reception will include a sampling of local oysters donated by Trey Sowers from Chapel Creek Oyster Company. Sullivan’s Pond Farm of Wake will be donating handmade cheese.
