Vernon P. (Poochie) Thomas, age 78, of Cobbs Creek, passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and was also a member of the choir.
He was employed at BASF Company at the Williamsburg plant as a Research Technician and retired after 34 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Thomas; three sons, Vernon Wade Thomas and his wife Mary, Barry Neal Thomas, and Richard Alan Thomas and his wife Kirsten; a sister, Sylvia Jordan; six grandchildren, Beverly, Jason, Michael, Mindy, Matt, and Trevor, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family received friends on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Va. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial in Windsor Garden Cemetery, Dutton, Va.
