Free equipment for making up to three beehives will be available Oct. 26-Nov. 10 from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
The 2022 Beehive Distribution Program will select qualified applicants at random, a VDACS release said.
Individuals must be residents of Virginia and 18 years of age or older. Recipients of beehive units must assemble the equipment and occupy them with a colony of honeybees within one year of receiving the equipment, VDACS stated.
