Vannoy places 10th in VHSL golf championship

Gloucester High School freshman golfer Levi Vannoy earned first team all-region honors by finishing in fifth place individually at the regional tournament held at Williamsburg National Golf Club last week. He is the only Duke to qualify for the state tournament, which will be held on Monday.
Gloucester High School freshman golfer Levi Vannoy finished in a tie for 10th place out of a field of 60 competitors in the VHSL Class 4 Championship, held on Monday at the Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Harrisonburg.Vannoy shot a total gross of 77 on the course, tying Vincent Diglio of Woodgrove. Previously, he finished the regular season in second place in the Peninsula District and earned First Team All-Region honors at the Region 4A tournament by finishing in fifth place.
