USAF band to present free concert

The USAF Heritage of America Band will perform a free concert in Irvington on Saturday, July 2. Conducting the band will be Capt. David Neil C. Regner, at left, while Staff Sgt. Rachael Colman, right, will be a featured soloist.
The U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band will perform music from Broadway shows, film scores by John Williams and patriotic favorites at its free concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 2 at the Irvington Town Commons, 98 King Carter Drive.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring chairs and picnics to the performance, which is presented by the Irvington Village Improvement Association. Concert sponsor Chesapeake Bank will offer free hot dogs, chips and desserts from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
The band’s tribute to Broadway musicals will showcase Leonard Bernstein’s “Mambo” from West Side Story and showstoppers “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from Funny Girl and “Defying Gravity” from Wicked sung by Staff Sgt. Rachael Colman.
