Artists who work in all media are invited to submit their artwork to be featured in the upcoming art show, “The Pearl & Its People: A Celebration of Mathews,” at the Art Speaks Gallery of the Bay School Community Arts Center on Main Street, Mathews.
The show will celebrate the history, culture and people of Mathews through the visual arts and stories from the county.
Those submitting work do not need to be professional artists; they only need to have been inspired by the people or landscapes of Mathews.
The show will run from June 10 through Aug. 5, with an artist/writers reception from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 30. Select written pieces will be shared beginning at 1 p.m. on June 10 at the opening presentation to kick off the show, and there will be artist demonstrations from 1-3 p.m. on July 1 and July 29.
The deadline for submissions is 4 p.m. on June 2. Work will need to be delivered to the Art Speaks Gallery at the Bay School Community Arts Center by 4 p.m. on June 6...
