Unveiling to be held June 2 for Main Street statues

As part of the 2019 Gloucester Arts Festival which runs throughout June, 10 bronze-cast statues by artist Seward Johnson will be placed along Main Street, with an unveiling set for 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 2.
The unveiling of each will start at the Gloucester Brewing Company and continue up Main Street, ending at the Court Circle. Those taking part are encouraged to arrive at the Gloucester Brewing Company at noon.
Internationally recognized, Johnson started his early career as a painter before turning his talents to sculpture. More than 450 of Johnson’s life-sized cast bronze figures have been featured in private collections and museums in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia, as well as prominent places in the public realm such as Times Square and Rockefeller Center in New York City, Pacific Place of Hong Kong, Les Halles in Paris, and Via Condotti in Rome.
