United Eagles MC supports Dutton couple

The United Eagles Motorcycle Club started up about a decade ago as a Christian biker group that rides “to be a blessing to the Lord,” said member Mitch Smith.
One of the group’s main goals, he said, is to give support to families in the Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex area who are dealing with illness, sudden hardship, house fire victims or who are just in need. The group also tries to sponsor a family every Christmas.
This week, the group, which is headed up by president Saunders Hodges, vice president J.R. Harris, treasurer Linda Harris and secretary Dora Smith, presented its monthly gift of $200 to Randy and Mary Ewell of Dutton.
“Bikers and bike groups have been given a bad name,” Mitch Smith said. “We plan to change the biker image into a positive image.”
