Under the Stars Farm holds dessert contest

Under the Stars Lavender Farm of Gloucester held its second annual One Sweet Night dessert contest on Saturday. Five chefs competed for prizes that were voted on by judges and the guests in attendance.

The People’s Choice Award went to Genevieve Malarkey of Café Genevieve for her French macarons. The Judges’ Choice Award went to Maia Collins of Tie My Apron for her shortbread cookie topped with lemon meringue. Collins won the same award at last year’s competition. The Periwinkle Award went to Dominque Lewis of The Sweet Chef for her Lavender Euphoria. Private chef Melissa Shaffer, and Brian McTurnal and Rebecca Whalen of Doodles Donuts and Café also participated.
