More than a dozen daffodil enthusiasts met at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs in Gloucester on Nov. 14 to take part in a presentation given by local daffodil expert and hybridizer Brent Heath. The program, “Undaunted Daffodils,” was geared towards enlightening the uninitiated about the basics of showing this county’s most famous flower. Heath focused on the different divisions of daffodils and highlighted those that thrive in the garden and those good for shows. There will be a new class in the upcoming daffodil show consisting of a collection of five standard cultivars from the Heaths’ daffodil hybrids. A collection of bulbs called “Hometown Collection” is available for a limited time from Brent and Becky’s, by calling 804-693-3966 or visiting the retail Bulb Shoppe in Ware Neck.
