The Peninsula Field Hockey Club participated in the National Indoor Festival over the Presidents’ Day weekend at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. The club is based in Gloucester with 51 members in three age divisions, including 48 from the Gloucester pipeline. All three divisions played extremely well and finished with a winning record.
The U14 finished second in their pool while the U16 finished third in their pool.
The U19 team won their pool with a 5-0 record and finished with a +29 goal differential by scoring 33 goals and giving up four over the five-game span.
They defeated two teams from Pennsylvania and one each from Delaware, Ohio and Texas. The team consisted of nine players from the Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team and two players were from Menchville and Poquoson. The team consists of seven juniors and four seniors.
