Two more Good News Pantries placed in Mathews

Two more Good News Pantries have been placed in Mathews County at St. Paul and Beulah United Methodist churches. The pantries serve as locations for people to donate food for those in need. The pantries are open to all who may have difficulty providing for themselves or their families.
Jan Towne of Onemo began converting old Gazette-Journal newspaper boxes to the pantries when the pandemic first began as a way to help the community. Those wanting to donate are encouraged to leave store-bought foods that have a long self-life and can handle the changing of the temperature.
