Two new art exhibits opened to the public on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at the RAL Art Center, 19 N. Main Street, Kilmarnock.
More than 50 pieces of art, including drawings, paintings, photographs, glasswork, and sculptures, are on display in the combined shows.
The pieces in the exhibit “75 Years of Inspiration” demonstrate how the Rappahannock Art League and RAL Art Center have been an inspiration to the community of artists, said a press release, while the works in the exhibit “Close Up” illustrate that proximity can make all the difference in the viewers’ perceptions.
The exhibits opened at the First Friday reception on Jan. 5 at the gallery. The viewers are judging the art work, voting for a Best in Show in both shows, and these awards will be announced on Jan. 20, a release said.
The art in the two exhibits will remain on display and for sale through Saturday, Jan. 27. The center’s winter hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The public is invited to see the art on displ...
