Two new exhibits are on display this month at the RAL Art Center, 19 Main Street, Kilmarnock.Both the RAL members’ show, “Water, Above and Below” and an exhibit by visiting artist Robin Caspari, “Traveling Inward,” opened on Oct. 1 and will remain on view until Oct. 26.
The 84 original works of art in “Water, Above and Below” include paintings, photography, fiber art, glass, and sculpture. The show’s judge, Nadine Flood, announced the winners at a public reception on Friday, Oct. 4, at the art center.Winners were: First Place, “Modern Mermaid” by Johnny Hayes; Second Place, “Still Waters” by Bonnie Leigh Jones; Third Place, “Deep Blue Sunrise” by Mel Neale.
Honorable mentions went to eight artists: Cheryl Mihills, Gayle Werling, Jodi Ball, Mary Ellen Huennekens, Jeff Barsky, Sarah Marshall Elliott, Sandy Woodson, and Anna Raff.
The People’s Choice Award went to Lara Brady for “First Flight Solo.”
