An Occasion for the Arts will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Merchants Square, 134 N. Henry Street, Williamsburg.
The two-day festival will feature the work of 125 artists, a youth art show, and all-day entertainment on two stages. Performances include everything from Scottish fiddling and multicultural drumming to acoustic pop, bluegrass and blues, and acoustic rock. Food will be available at various eateries in the food court.
The festival will kick off at 5 p.m. Friday with An Evening for the Arts, a fundraiser to benefit the Artist-in-Residence program in Williamsburg/James City County Public Schools. It will be held in the arts tent in the Merchants Square parking lot behind Blue Talon restaurant, 420 Prince George Street, Williamsburg.
