Twelfth Night celebration to be held Jan. 5 at Kingston

A Twelfth Night Festival of Carols, celebrating the last day of Christmas, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Kingston Parish House, Mathews.The concert will feature three organists: Daniel Corneliussen, Libby Bower and Coleman Tyler; two string musicians: Nina Buzby, cellist, and Jennifer Edenborn, violinist; and one vocalist: Karol Steadman. The musicians will perform festive secular and sacred Christmas music.
Jan. 5, the Eve of Epiphany, marks the end of the 12 days of Christmas. According to tradition, it was on the twelfth day when the three wise men arrived in Bethlehem bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Hot wassail and light refreshments will be served during the intermission. There is no charge for the concert, with a free-will offering accepted. Al proceeds will support future concerts at the church.
