Tidewater Soil and Water Conservation District is hosting a cost share informational breakfast at Damon & Co, 7104 George Washington Memorial Highway, Gloucester, on Wednesday, March 6, beginning at 9 a.m. An RSVP is required by Friday.
TSWCD administers the Virginia Agricultural Best Management Cost Share Program and is piloting the Whole Farm Approach Program for agricultural producers in Gloucester, Mathews and Middlesex counties.
Both programs’ goals are to improve water quality in the state’s streams, rivers and Chesapeake Bay. VACS and the Whole Farm Approach offer cost share assistance as an incentive to construct or implement Best Management Practices. Voluntary BMPs reduce nonpoint source pollution and improve soil health and water quality.
