Members of the Rappahannock Tribe led the Gloucester Museum of History’s History Camp last Wednesday. Ashlee Harless, above, and Carmella Dunlap led the kids in one of the tribe’s dances. Director of Environmental Services for the Rappahannock Tribe Woodie Walker said they also educated the kids about archaeology to help them understand how long indigenous peoples have lived in Virginia. He said they also talked about life of indigenous people today. Walker said the Rappahannock Tribe is always looking to partner with organizations that work to educate others on the history of the tribes in Virginia.
