Triad Senior Health Fair to be held Oct. 22

The annual Mathews Triad Senior Health Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church on Lovers Lane in Mathews.
Sponsored by Riverside Health Systems, the program will feature an 11 a.m. talk by Vicki L. Hogge, RN SCRN, of Rappahannock General Hospital, who will discuss the signs and symptoms of strokes, followed by an address at 11:30 by Dr. Gregg Shivers, service line chief for Riverside’s Lifelong Health Division.
The fair opens for registration at 9:30 a.m., with coffee and muffins available, and activities begin at 10, with hearing and vision screenings provided by the Lions Club Screening Van, balance and blood pressure screenings, and flu shots.
A hot lunch at noon will include Brunswick stew or vegetable beef soup at a cost of $3. Entertainment during the meal will be by Sheila Johnson.
