Tres Maurice Carter, 33, of Gloucester, died on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Tres was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ellen Carter and great-grandmother, Louise Car-ter (whom he affectionately called Gon Gon).

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his parents, Tonia Carter of Virginia and Raymond Braxton Jr. of New York; his brother, Kyle Parker of Virginia, and his wife, Letesia Carter of Texas.

He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, whom he dearly loved. Tres had an unwavering closeness with his great-aunts, Mary Gwynn and Gail Jacobs, who nurtured and loved him and he especially loved them for that. Also, his special cousins, Jamal Gwynn and Dominque Gwynn of Florida and Garrett and Garnell Gwynn of Virginia.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at Gleaning Baptist Church, Gloucester. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Viewing was one hour prior to the service.
