Friends of Machicomoco State Park held its first Music in the Park event in partnership with Virginia State Parks on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Machicomoco State Park, Hayes. The Tom Euler Trio entertained about 200 attendees.
Playing a mix of progressive blues/rock as late afternoon turned to evening, the Trio consisted of Tom Euler on guitar, Wes Mallory on bass, and “Smiling” Max Parker on drums. Park visitors enjoyed their picnic dinners, often sharing food with others in attendance during this free event.
About half in attendance indicated that this was their first visit to Machicomoco State Park, with many commenting they plan to return.
“Our goal was to put on a family friendly music event for the community to enjoy, and in my opinion, we succeeded” stated Bob Anderson, a director with Friends of Machicomoco State Park.
