TOGA to hold Fall Oyster Float Sale at Williams Wharf Oct. 3

The Tidewater Oyster Gardeners Association will hold its Fall Oyster Float Sale at Williams Wharf Landing in Mathews County from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 3. Numerous types and sizes of oyster growing floats, accessories and supplies will be available for purchase. There will also be vendors selling seed oysters.
This will be the only event TOGA has sponsored since the COVID-19 pandemic started this spring.
Williams Wharf Landing is located just south of Mathews Court House on the East River. The landing has a rich history of oyster operations, and a historic boatyard. It was the site of a successful TOGA sales event last year.
Master Oyster Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions about growing oysters. “If you’ve ever thought about starting an oyster garden, or have grown oysters for years and have a few questions, TOGA Master Oyster Gardeners will do their best to provide advice and guidance,” said TOGA president Terry Lewis.
