Todd Fowler is the new owner of the WXGM radio stations.
WXGM-FM (Xtra 99.1) and WXGM-AM (1420 AM and 102.3 FM) were previously owned by Marva Robinson. Her husband, Tom Robinson, owned the stations from 1981 until his death in 2020.
Fowler said that he hopes to expand community involvement, hire additional staff, and develop additional public awareness. He also intends to become more involved with the Gloucester community.
Fowler was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and grew up in Ithaca, New York. He is a second-generation broadcaster. His father ran a national chain of radio stations, whose corporate office was based in Upstate New York. Fowler went to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, graduating in 1991.
Fowler worked for ABC Radio Network, in Dallas, Texas, where he sold network programming to radio stations across the country. In 2004, he moved to Charleston, South Carolina, and became president of American Media Services brokerage division, where they did FM signal ...
