Timothy James Worrell, 57, of Gloucester, Virginia, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey H. and Barbara Worrell, and brother, Aubrey H. Worrell Jr.
Sgt. Worrell was a retired Virginia Conservation Police Officer and former Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s deputy. He was an avid outdoorsman, beach goer, and Virginia Tech Hokies football fan.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jennifer H. Worrell of Gloucester; children, Maj. Travis Worrell (Brittany) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ashley Bentley (Kyle) of Smithfield, Va., Kindred Worrell and Peyton Worrell of Gloucester; three grandsons, Donald James and Kyle Christopher Bentley, and Easton James Worrell; two sisters, Joyce Alphin (Harrell) and Tammy Jones (Kevin); along with his faithful companion, “Reesie,” and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A visitation was held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in the Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni, at 10 a.m. The funeral was immediately afterwards at 11:30, with Pastor Curt Faison conducting. Burial in the church cemetery and luncheon in the fellowship hall followed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Conservation Police Association, Attn: Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 2126, Forest, Va. 24551-9998.
