The third annual Timberneck Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk was held Saturday at Machicomoco State Park, Hayes. There were 60 participants in the 5K event, and the overall winner was 23-year-old Joshua Shackelford with a time of 17:59 (in photo, very back, tall, blond, barely visible). The annual fundraiser event hosted by the Fairfield Foundation raised more than $3,300 for the restoration of the Timberneck House on the park property.
