The Zydeco Hot Peppers

Corey Arceneaux and the Zydeco Hot Peppers will perform at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Flat Iron Crossroads, Gloucester. Instructor Talia Moore will offer a free zydeco-style dance lesson before the show starts, at 6. Doors open at 5:30 with Old City Barbecue food truck and beverages at the FIX Bar. Tickets are $20 when purchased online at flatironcrossroads.com. Children 12 and younger are free of charge. Arceneaux, second from left, is the band’s leader and a Louisiana-born-and-bred master zydeco accordionist. Other band members are, from left, Pat Clark, Doug Bell, Ben Holmes and Gene Monroe. The group blends R&B, Blues and Country with traditional Zydeco styles, releasing six albums over time. Zydeco music originated in Louisiana’s Creole community and is characterized by its use of accordion and washboard.
