Gloucester held a groundbreaking for its new state park in March. Representatives from local government, state conservation groups, the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, business sector, and native tribes stood shoulder to shoulder in damp, overcast conditions to turn the first shovels of dirt in Phase One of the build-out of the state park at Timberneck.
