‘The Pages of Rosewell’ topic of Mathews Museum talk

Philip Page of Gloucester will discuss “The Pages of Rosewell” in a talk at 7 p.m. next Friday, April 4, at Mathews Museum.
He is a descendant of the Page family which began construction of Rosewell in Gloucester 300 years ago, in 1725. The family resided there for more than 100 years and became leading figures in Virginia history.
His wife Anne Page is a fourth great-grandchild of Governor John Page, born at Rosewell in 1743 and a friend of Thomas Jefferson; both attended the College of William and Mary in the 1760s.
Rosewell had passed out of family hands when it was destroyed in a fire in 1916.
The talk is free and open to the public.
