The new year brings time for parties, visits, hunting

Mr. Russell Hutson spent Christmas with his parents at New Point. Miss Lillian Burroughs gave a supper to a large crowd of boys and girls on Saturday night last, in honor of her sixteenth birthday. They adjourned about 11 o’clock and all reported having a pleasant time.
Mr. Logan Taylor left for Norfolk on Monday after spending a few days with his parents.
A number of men went hunting over at “Hopkins” on Saturday last. All spent a pleasant day and came back with eight rabbits.

Peninsula High School reopened Jan. 2 with every teacher and most of the pupils in place, and ready for work. Miss Emma Green, who has been critically ill with pneumonia, is very much improved. Mrs. F.E. Baukhages visited the school Friday with the purpose of introducing instrumental music to as many of the girls as she could interest.
