The impact of your friendship

The Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society’s animal welfare programs and services touched the lives of more than 8,000 pets in 2023. The pets who count on GMHS to be their voice and save their lives also count on the generosity of friends and supporters.
We are incredibly thankful for your role in bringing transformative change to the lives of those we serve. It is our pleasure to share with you the following heart connections and success stories from 2023.
Dumbledore was found as a stray in our community in February. After being transferred into the care of the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, we discovered he was suffering from a torn CCL (Canine Cruciate Ligament). Despite his condition, four-year-old Dumbledore was an amazingly affectionate dog, with a sweet disposition, who longed to find a family to call his own. Because of the funds raised during Give Local 757, Dumbledore received TPLO surgery to stabilize his left hind knee. Now Dumbledore has recovered from surgery and heartworm...
