‘The History of Women Pilots’

Aviation pioneer and author Mary Shipko of Gloucester will present “The History of Women Pilots and How They Changed the Airlines” at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Williamsburg Regional Library’s Stryker Center. Shipko, one of the first women hired by the airlines, weaves an interesting and fun story of the early women airline pilots in this entertaining and enlightening presentation. Learn about the history, laws and changes that impacted these adventurous and bold women. Also learn about the industry opportunities today for women. Shipko will also share her writing process.
