The Arc of the Virginia Peninsula’s Lewis B. Puller Center in Gloucester hosted a reception Monday to recognize donors to its ongoing capital campaign.
The campaign began in January 2008 with the goal of raising $1 million by the end of this month. During the reception, The ARC President/CEO Kasia Grzelkowski announced the campaign still needs $140,000 to reach its goal.
The purpose of the campaign is to allow the Puller Center, located in a 15,000-square-foot facility in a building shared with Kelsick Specialty Market on Main Street, to expand its services for Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck residents with developmental and other disabilities.
The Arc assumed operations of the Puller Center in 2001 and relocated it to the much larger Main Street facility in 2008. The new site provides more space for work projects, allowing the operation to increase its partnerships with regional businesses that provide job opportunities for its clients.
