Abingdon Episcopal Church, Gloucester, will open its doors once again to the community for its annual Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, at 4645 George Washington Memorial Highway. All are welcome, there is no charge and no reservations are needed to take part in the Thanksgiving Day luncheon of turkey and all the trimmings. The event is being co-organized by Barbara Allison-Bryan and Hugh Bryan IV, who have made this a family tradition for 35 years. Babysitting will be available for little ones while their parents enjoy their meal. For more information or assistance, call the parish office at 804-693-3035. In 2010 at the church’s 16th annual Thanksgiving, those in attendance were greeted by the smiling faces of Pilgrims Jennifer and Jessica Herman, above from left, who served beverages to guests.
