The Gloucester County Public Schools Educational Foundation recognized its Teachers of the Year at an awards dinner Tuesday night in the T.C. Walker Education Center Café, fittingly on National Teacher Appreciation Day.
“It takes a lot of people to support public education,” said Dr. Anthony Vladu, superintendent of schools.
In his opening remarks, Vladu thanked the foundation’s support of the school system, school board members, the food service department and the building level principals for all of their work. He also thanked the families of the teachers who serve as their support system.
“I don’t think we could do teaching without our support system,” he said.
Vladu said to the teachers being honored at the dinner that there is no better award to receive in the profession than teacher of the year.
“I just want to thank you for all the work that you do,” said Vladu.
