Virginia Association for Career and Technical Education President Bo Bundrick was on hand at the Mathews County School Board’s March 18 meeting to formally present Thomas Hunter Middle School teacher Michelle Williams with the 2025 ACTE New Teacher of the Year plaque. Although not a “new teacher” (Williams has been teaching math and reading at the middle school full-time since 2008), she was recognized with the honor for revitalizing the school’s home economics program (now known as Family and Consumer Science).
