Talbotts to address NARFE meeting

Don and Christy Talbott of Gloucester address a meeting of Chapter 1757 of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees next week, with the couple telling of their experiences and emotions in a personal journey with Alzheimer’s disease.
Don Talbott was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the age of 41 and since then he and Christy have spread the word about the treatments and effects of Alzheimer’s. The Talbotts have dedicated themselves to Alzheimer’s advocacy and research, being involved in studies at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2017, their story was included in a nationwide PBS documentary, “Alzheimer’s: The Caregiver’s Perspective.” They have received numerous awards for their dedicated advocacy and support of Alzheimer’s research.
According to a news release, NARFE is a major contributor to Alzheimer’s research, having donated more than $12 million.
