Tab Duane Fox, age 67, of Mathews County, was called to his heavenly home on Friday, February 7, 2025. Tab formerly owned Fox Auto Repair, Hayes, which his father established. He and his father served the community by fixing vehicles for over 35 years. Tab’s love for the community, kindness, and generosity were felt as soon as you walked through the door.

Tab was a free spirit who would light up any room with his smile and jokes. He enjoyed taking trips on his motorcycle with all his buddies and camping with his family. He loved the mountains and spent many years at his home in Nelson County, Virginia. Most importantly, he unconditionally loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Ray Duane Fox; daughter, Monica Breckinridge Fox; father, Carl “Ross” Fox; paternal grandparents, Marvin and Mary Fox, and maternal grandparents, Frank Cooke Sr. and Margaret Cooke. He is survived by his son, Jeremy Fox (Chelsei); a second marriage to Tammy Brown and their two sons, Bryce Fox and Braxton Fox; daughter, Breanna Fox; three adorable grandchildren, Ethan, Owen, and Luke Fox; his mother, Joyce “Becky” Fox; two sisters, Cindy Clark (Skip) and Tanya Lafata; an abundance of friends and his faithful canine, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 6-7 p.m. Services will be private. He will be missed by many; he was indeed one of a kind.
