Symphony Under the Stars returns May 27

Symphony Under the Stars, the annual free family concert sponsored by the Cook Foundation and many other donors, will be held at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, on the lawn at Main Street and Walter Reed Way in Gloucester. It will be part of the new Gloucester Arts Festival.
The Virginia Symphony Orchestra will perform, conducted by Maestro Benjamin Rous.
This is the 11th year of the concert, said a press release, and the popular event is expected to draw over 2,000 people to the Gloucester Court House area.
Several restaurants will offer a 10 percent discount to those attending the concert—Bangkok Noi, Lulu Birds Kitchen, Olivia’s in the Village, Patriots Grill, and Sweet Tooth Café and Bakery. Good Life Kitchen and Boy Scout Troop 111 will have food for sale on site, and picnics are welcome, as well. Good Life Kitchen will also offer special picnic basket meals to take to the concert.
