Susie Rowe Pyles, 90, of Hayes, died at her home Feb. 19, 2015.

Susie was retired from the Gloucester County Treasurer’s office. Always an early morning person, she enjoyed working in her garden and canning and just being outside. Susie was well known for being a wonderful cook and she enjoyed cooking for her family. She was always ready to go shopping, never missing an opportunity to go to the mall. Susie was kind and loving to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Pyles, and parents, Joseph and Madeline Rowe.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Horsley and husband Dennis; son, Joseph Carlton Harper and wife Celeste; grandchildren, Ashley Horsley and her friend Paden Cloud and Carla Mendoza and husband Leo; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Patrick; and brother, Joseph Rowe and wife Ruth.

A funeral service conducted by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
