The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will consider whether to continue to fund the school board by the traditional lump sum method or by category Tuesday night at its regular meeting in the colonial courthouse, scheduled to begin at 7o’clock.
The board voted during its Aug. 4 meeting to deny a request on behalf of the Gloucester School Board to hold off discussing categorical funding until after a joint meeting of both boards in late September. However, the supervisors board did give the school board the option to make a presentation at Tuesday’s meeting as to why schools should not be funded by category.
At a school board meeting last Thursday evening, the four members present decided rather than a presentation, the school board would ask supervisors once again to hold off a decision on the matter until a formal discussion between the two boards could take place during a joint meeting scheduled for Sept. 21.
