Gloucester supervisors received a legislative update Tuesday from two of the county’s representatives in the General Assembly. The board also held a public hearing to consider a tower lease agreement between New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC, and the county, and received a presentation from Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board executive director Linda Hodges.
Del. Keith Hodges (R-Montross) and state Sen. Ryan McDougle (R-Mechanicsville), addressed board members at Tuesday’s meeting, which was held in the colonial courthouse.
McDougle called the recently completed session “arduous.”
“We looked at a lot of different things,” he said. “There were a lot of things that we agreed on. There were a lot of things that we did not agree on. The governor had about 200+ vetoes this year which is not only the most of any legislative session, but the most vetoes for any governor in their entire term and that all happened this session.”
