The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission discussed the upcoming comprehensive plan update, as well as the results of a community survey on the comp plan during a joint meeting Tuesday in the colonial courthouse.
Deputy County Administrator Steve Wright gave a presentation on the comprehensive plan community survey results.The survey had a little over 400 respondents who answered questions about their overall experience living in Gloucester County, employment in Gloucester County, housing in Gloucester County, and Route 17 and transportation options.Fifty-one percent of respondents felt as though the overall experience of living in Gloucester improved and 41 percent felt as though it had declined, said Wright. Respondents also indicated that the top characteristics of Gloucester County were its rural, small-town feeling and the overall sense of safety.
