The Mathews Board of Supervisors, at a meeting held on February 7, laid the following levies which will govern the collection of taxes for the year 1919: General County fund 30c on each $100 worth of property, County Road Levy 40c, County School fund 20c, District School fund 30c. A tax of 15c was also placed on intangibles for the benefit of roads.
It is stated upon good authority that Mr. N.B. Leigh of Soles, who was appointed Supervisor of the Piankatank district to succeed Capt. F.R. Haynes, will not accept the appointment.
