The Mathews High School String Orchestra traveled to Jamestown High School Saturday along with 15 other school orchestras to participate in the VBODA District VIII State Assessment. The group was rated by three judges on a stage performance, and by one judge on a group sight reading performance. Each of the four judges awarded the group with a Superior Rating, the highest possible rating that can be given to an ensemble. Representing MHS at the competition were, from left, Hannah Stillwaggon, Logan Macias, Riley Tripp, Jacob Heimerich, Vic DeForge, Sylis Calautti and Tristan Barnes.
